Make Drama: MAD launched outside Korea today. Wemade Connect, the mobile publishing arm of Wemade Max, opened global service for its subculture RPG on October 8, expanding into North America, Europe, Taiwan and other regions four months after the game's June 4 domestic debut.
The game, developed by Fluffy Duck, puts players in the role of a "Fixer" recruiting a roster of female characters in a neon-lit city, running combat and story scenes through Live2D presentation while layering in affection and relationship systems closer to a dating sim than a typical turn-based gacha RPG. It's rated for adult audiences, and Wemade Connect kept that positioning intact instead of softening it for a wider release.
What ships with the global launch
Wemade Connect timed three pieces of content to the expansion rather than just flipping a regional switch:
- Isabel, a new playable character arriving with her own dedicated Partner Story chapter
- Sacred Power Injection, a new character growth and progression system (some regional materials render the same feature as "Sacred Power Infusion")
- Demons Royale, a limited-time event handing out in-game resources to participants
The publisher is running all of this on what it calls a "Global One Build" model: one shared client and content pipeline for every region, instead of staggered patches or region-locked story chapters. That matters for a subculture RPG: players in this genre track banner schedules and content pacing against every other region like a scoreboard, and build desync is a recurring complaint aimed at other publishers in the space.
Mobile first, Steam still pending
At launch, Make Drama: MAD is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play, Google Play Games and One Store, folding the Apple listing and Google Play Games in as new additions alongside the platforms the Korean version already shipped on.
A Steam version is the one piece still in motion. Wemade Connect describes PC support as "in development," with cross-platform play planned between mobile and Steam down the line, but coverage of the launch disagrees on how far along that is: some outlets report an active Steam wishlist page, while others describe the PC build as still pending with no firm release window attached. Nothing public ties a release date to the Steam version yet, so treat any specific date circulating online as unconfirmed until Wemade Connect names one.
A statement aimed at a crowded genre
Fluffy Duck CEO Lee Jeong-hun called the expansion a turning point, not a routine content drop, framing it as a starting point for reaching subculture fans worldwide and crediting the Korean playerbase's support for making the global push possible. He also pledged to keep quality and service stability steady as the international player base grows, a standard line, but one that carries more weight than usual given how many subculture gacha launches have stumbled on server stability or uneven content pacing in their first weeks.
That's the real test now. Make Drama: MAD is stepping into a mobile subculture market already crowded with Blue Archive, Nikke and a steady stream of new entrants chasing the same Live2D-and-relationship-systems formula. A clean Korean run gives Wemade Connect a proof of concept; holding onto North American, European and Taiwanese players past the launch-week pre-registration bonuses is a separate problem. The Steam version, whenever it lands, will be the next marker worth watching.
