Wuthering Waves Version 3.7 goes live September 30, once maintenance wraps up at 11:00 (UTC+8). Subtitled "Prism's Illusion, Heart's Illumination," the update closes out the Xuanfang story arc in Mengzhou and finally puts Hsin, the region's long-teased sentinel, into players' hands. Suoming joins the roster alongside him. The patch runs 42 days, through November 11.
The Xuanfang arc wraps up, and Hsin becomes playable
Version 3.7 delivers Main Quest Chapter IV Act IV, "Simulacrum of the Heart," the chapter that closes the Xuanfang storyline built up across Mengzhou's earlier patches. It's paired with a Tales Quest, "Moonlike Heart, Mortal Longing," and a new fully voiced, cinematically staged quest type centered on a girl named Suanqing, a format Kuro Games hasn't used at this scale before.
The story arc closes with a roster addition: Hsin, described in-fiction as Mengzhou's sentinel, is playable for the first time. He fights as an Electro Rectifier user, a role that's been effectively empty on the character select screen since the Mengzhou arc introduced him as a narrative fixture. Suoming arrives alongside him as an Electro Sword user, giving the patch two Electro releases back to back rather than the usual element split between phases.
Both characters unlock through Mengzhou's new zone, the Simulacrum Nexus, a cluster of interconnected areas built around a central Heartscape Labyrinth and four elemental "Heart" regions branching off it. It's the biggest single piece of new exploration space tied to a Mengzhou update so far.
Banner order: Hsin first, Suoming in Phase 2
The two new Resonators don't share a banner. Kuro is spreading them across the patch's two phases, each paired with reruns rather than another new unit:
- Phase 1: Hsin's debut banner, running alongside reruns for Chisa and Iuno.
- Phase 2: Suoming's debut banner, running alongside reruns for Lynae and Lucilla, both originally introduced through the Startorch Academy storyline.
That structure gives players who skipped Chisa, Iuno, Lynae, or Lucilla a second entry point without having to compete directly against Hsin or Suoming's pull priority within the same banner. Anyone building around an Electro team now has a real choice to make between two 5-stars sharing an element but different weapon types and, presumably, different rotational roles.
Quality-of-life: replaying old story and stacking Echoes
Two changes matter more for veteran accounts than for the headline characters. First, Kuro is opening a replay mode for Versions 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3, letting players revisit story content from Wuthering Waves' first year without losing their current progression state. For a live-service game approaching its third year, that's a direct answer to a recurring complaint: older story chapters becoming effectively inaccessible once players move past them.
Second, the patch touches Echo management, the system that governs which combat skills a Resonator carries from defeated enemies. Exact mechanical details are still filtering out post-livestream, but the direction points toward making Echo farming and swapping less punishing for players juggling multiple teams.
Free Astrite is on the table too. Codes revealed during the September 19 preview livestream are:
FALLINGSANCTUMFINDSENTINELWAKINGMOON
Redeem them in-game or through Kuro's official redemption site before they expire; these codes typically have a short shelf life once a patch goes live.
What to do before the servers come back up
Anyone sitting on Astrite has a real decision to make this week: pull Hsin now, wait six weeks for Suoming, or split resources across both. Given the shared Electro tag but different weapon kits, teams built around one won't automatically benefit from the other. Spend the next 24 hours checking Echo loadouts and pity counters, then redeem the three codes before they lapse. Expect a wave of early build guides for Hsin and Suoming within days of the servers coming back online.
