Persona 4 has a comeback date. During the Xbox Games Showcase, echoed at Tokyo Game Show 2026, Atlus confirmed that Persona 4 Revival launches February 18, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It arrives day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, so subscribers can try the remake without buying it.
The announcement came with a new narrative trailer and character spotlights covering Yukiko, Yosuke, Chie, Rise, and the protagonist, the clearest look yet at how Atlus rebuilt the 2008 mystery-investigation RPG for current hardware.
What the Golden remake changes
Persona 4 Revival is built on Persona 4 Golden, the definitive 2012 Vita version that later found a second life on PC, PS4, Xbox, and Switch. Atlus carried over Golden's expanded content and layered in mechanics pulled from its more recent games, going beyond an upscale of the old assets.
The headline addition is Series Finale, a new all-out attack system that plays the same narrative role Theurgy did in Persona 5 Royal: a personal, story-driven ultimate move tied to each character's arc. Baton Pass makes the jump from Persona 5 too, letting party members chain turns together after landing a weakness hit, a mechanic Persona 4's original turn-based structure never had. That addition signals a systems rework built for 2020s Persona combat, not a coat of paint.
Visually, the trailers show a clear jump from Golden's stylized-but-dated 3D models to modern character rendering, closer in fidelity to Persona 3 Reload than to the PS2-era original this whole lineage started from.

Anyone who preorders any edition before February 17, 2027 unlocks the P3R & P5R Extra BGM Set, a bundle of selectable music tracks pulled from Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Royal that can be swapped into Persona 4 Revival's soundtrack. The bonus ties Persona 4 Revival to Atlus's two most recent remake hits, part of the same continuity push as those games rather than a standalone release.
Why the timing matters
