Monster Hunter Outlanders has a release date. Capcom and developer TiMi Studio Group confirmed the free-to-play mobile spin-off launches worldwide on October 29, 2026, on iOS and Android, with a mainland China release to follow in 2027.

The date closes out a short run from reveal to launch. Outlanders was unveiled at Gamescom 2026, where pre-registration opened on both app stores the same day. Capcom handing one of its flagship licenses to TiMi, the Tencent studio behind Call of Duty Mobile and Honor of Kings, is the real story: a mainline Monster Hunter brand built as a live-service mobile game, landing in a genre already crowded with hunting-and-collecting clones chasing the same audience.

Four-player hunts on the island of Isolesia

Outlanders sets its open-world hunting loop on Isolesia, a previously unexplored island that serves as the game's central hub and hunting ground. Up to four players can team up in real time to track and bring down monsters, with guild structures and fixed-party systems built to keep groups hunting together across sessions, not just one-off runs. Solo play remains supported for hunters who'd rather work the island alone.

The game launches with seven weapon types drawn from the core Monster Hunter series, and keeps the franchise's signature crafting loop intact: parts carved from defeated monsters feed into weapon and armor crafting. That's the detail that matters most for longtime fans, since it's the system that has anchored every mainline entry since the original Monster Hunter, now rebuilt for a touchscreen, free-to-play structure.

Capcom is betting on a simple core loop: hunt, carve, craft, hunt again, with gacha-style recruitment layered on top instead of replacing it.

Pre-registration rewards and what's still unclear

Pre-registration is live now on both iOS and Android, with Capcom and TiMi dangling tiered rewards tied to sign-up and social media follower milestones. Confirmed rewards include:

  • 20 Standard Recruitment Tickets, usable to recruit playable hunters
  • The SR-rarity hunter Raya, unlocked once pre-registration targets are hit

Those ticket and SR-rarity terms point toward a gacha-based recruitment system layered on top of the hunting gameplay, consistent with TiMi's other live-service titles. Capcom hasn't detailed banner rates, pity mechanics, or how deep the monetization goes beyond recruitment tickets, and Vostrike isn't filling in those blanks until Capcom or TiMi publish them.

What to watch before October 29

Three and a half weeks remain before launch. Two open questions decide whether Outlanders survives past its first season: how well the four-player hunts match the weight and pacing of mainline Monster Hunter combat on a phone screen, and how hard the gacha layer pushes players toward spending versus letting crafted gear carry progression on its own. Capcom is lending its biggest hunting franchise to Tencent's mobile specialists, and that's the bigger bet underneath all of it. October 29 is when it starts paying off, or doesn't. Vostrike will have hands-on impressions once the servers go live.
