Love and Deepspace launched a crossover with Blade Runner 2049 on October 19, 2026. The event, Rendered Real, runs until November 5. According to Pocket Tactics, it includes a cinematic PV, login rewards and a new story, and the trailer turns the game's love interests into giant holograms in the rain.

Rewards and dates

According to GosuGamers, Rendered Real runs from 05:00 on October 19 to 04:59 on November 5 (server time). Players check in to claim free Blade Runner-themed rewards:

  • Duo Photo Pose "At Your Touch", so "you and your favorite character can recreate the iconic scene between Joi and K," according to Pocket Tactics
  • Portrait Background "Manifest"
  • Sticker "2049"
  • Standard materials

You need to check in on ten days in total during the event to claim every reward.

According to PocketGamer.biz, the announcement used the Blade Runner quote "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain," and in the trailer one love interest says "You look lonely. I can fix that," a line from the 2017 film.

Fans keep asking for Valko

Much of the reaction is about something else: Valko, the sixth love interest that Papergames revealed and then cancelled about a week later, at the end of June 2026. According to Pocket Tactics, most of the backlash came from Chinese players, who criticized his Western design, the writing resources he would take from the other characters and his impact on gacha pull rates. The studio's apology stated that "no additional love interests will be introduced in future content plans."

Since then, Western fans have kept asking for his return, and the crossover announcement is no exception. On Reddit, some pointed out that Valko, meant to be a tech CEO, would have fit a cyberpunk event: "CYBERPPUNK TECH THEME WITHOUT OUR WOLF CEO?" wrote one user quoted by GosuGamers. Others criticized the choice of scene, since Joi is a hologram sold as a romantic companion: "The scene is not a romantic one," wrote one user. GosuGamers notes that Papergames has yet to address the calls for Valko's return.

According to AppMagic estimates cited by PocketGamer.biz, Love and Deepspace's player spending fell 68% month on month in July 2026, after the Valko controversy.
